Discovery Olympics deal with ORF

In a further move to provide outstanding Olympic Games coverage to more people and on more screens than ever before, Discovery Communications has made a long-term partnership with ORF, the public broadcaster in Austria, that will ensure every event of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be available for Austrian audiences across multiple screens.
Under the agreement, ORF will exclusively sublicense from Discovery Communications free-to-air audio visual and radio rights for its channels, for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games and 2020 Olympic Games, continuing ORF’s legacy of uniting the nation through following local medal events and the best Olympic Games action. The sublicense package will include selected digital rights to the content ORF broadcasts on its linear TV channels.
Eurosport will hold pay rights to air all Olympic Games action on its German language channels available in Austria, as well as across all digital, OTT and mobile platforms.
Eurosport is set to broadcast every moment of the action across its channels and digital platforms, ensuring that all events are readily available to Austrian fans across all screens.
