March 27, 2017

Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo) has launched its iOS and Android compatible mobile TV app, ‘Ooredoo TV Go’, partnering with Starz Play to provide on-demand access to over 6,000 hours of the latest series and blockbuster movies.

Johan Buse, Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo said: “Everything around us is getting faster and more accessible, with more and more people using their smartphones for online services and information. When we first started to develop the Ooredoo TV Go app, we took into consideration this smartphone trend as well as the importance of providing customers with high quality streaming, competitive prices and a strong network reach that will enable them to enjoy this experience. Being able to watch your favourite movie or TV show any place, any time and on any device, live or on-demand is now a reality and soon will become a way of life.”

Maaz Sheikh, CEO at Starz Play added: “We continue our commitment to providing the best user experience to our subscribers, and this partnership with Ooredoo will allow us to build on our promise to provide our customers with world class entertainment. The combination of SVoD platforms and telecom operators now brings Arab consumers the premium content they want at an affordable price, and offers them greater control over what they watch, when they watch, and what device they watch it on. Ooredoo TV Go is a solid example of how to deliver the maximum value and convenience to customers.”
