Deutchshe Telekom offers Gorillaz gig in 360°

May 10, 2017

On June 20th, Deutsche Telekom and Gorillaz will present the world premiere of the band’s live show in 360-degrees at Palladium Cologne. The event is one of four exclusive album showcases “Telekom Electronic Beats Presents Humanz Live” that will take place before the band’s European and North American tour in November. The shows are the highlight of an extensive collaboration between Deutsche Telekom and the successful virtual band.

Deutsche Telekom has been offering fans exciting insights into the Gorillaz world for the past three months.  As a technology partner, Deutsche Telekom has offered all fans exclusive Gorillaz content on The Lenz, a free augmented reality app available for iOS and Android within the EU. Last month, the company also powered the first ever live interview with 2D and Murdoc Niccals, two virtual characters from the band that was founded by musicians Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett.

“Telekom enables unique insights into the virtual world of Gorillaz by introducing new technology, connecting the real and the virtual worlds and letting fans worldwide be a part of the 360-degree music highlight,” says Hans-Christian Schwingen, Chief Brand Officer Deutsche Telekom.
