ThinkAnalytics, developer of a multi-platform TV search and recommendations engine, has revealed that Mexican operator Megacable is now personalising Xview pay-TV customers’ linear and VoD experiences on set-top boxes, online and on mobile apps with recommendations based on their viewing preferences.
In addition, Megacable is reaping the benefits of ThinkBigData to gain valuable, granular insight into user behaviour and the value of content to drive decision-making. As Megacable begins to understand individual user preferences it will be able to take advantage of new revenue generating opportunities including dynamic ad insertion.
“We chose to partner with ThinkAnalytics for its worldwide leading position in search and recommendations and ThinkBigData because it offers a quick deployment and a substantial and rapid return on investment. By using the sophisticated analytics in ThinkBigData we will be breaking new ground by not just understanding household behaviour but also getting real-time insight into preferences at the user level. This will give us the opportunity to monetise our platform investment as well as boosting subscriber loyalty and APRU,” said Oscar Gerardo Seifert, CMO, Megacable.
“Megacable is a marketing savvy organisation with the foresight to see the value of using big data to understand more about user preferences as well as measuring the ROI on content and business KPIs. Using this real-time insight, Megacable will be able to make business decisions including upsell, content acquisition and marketing campaigns,” said Rick Schiavinato, Senior Vice President, ThinkAnalytics Americas.
