EBS secures EPG delivery for Propeller TV on the Sky

March 7, 2018

Global EPG services provider EBS is now the operating partner for Propeller TV on all Sky platforms in the UK. Propeller TV EPG and metadata information distributed on Sky will now be handled through EBS’ highly adaptable Pawa2 cloud-based solution.

Propeller TV is a Chinese culture and business channel exclusive to the UK, owned and operated by the Xiking Culture and Media Group. The channel is billed as the platform dedicated to “bringing the world to China, and China to the world.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with Propeller TV, and helping them to deliver an outstanding EPG package to audiences across the UK,” says EBS Managing Director Keith Bedford. “The Chinese media market is all set to do great things on the world stage, and Pawa2 is the perfect resource to help make that happen.”

Pawa2 allows content suppliers to easily adapt their EPGs to the needs of any distribution platform, anywhere in the world. It ensures that media companies can effortlessly control brand consistency across all outlets, regardless of where and when content is accessed.

As well as being a one-stop database for organising and distributing schedules and metadata, Pawa2 is also capable of providing separate libraries for every channel a client operates. This ensures that data always fits a channel identity, and allows broadcasters to manage tailored workflows for both linear and non-linear services internally.

“This is such an exciting time for EBS,” Keith adds. “More and more international clients and partners are choosing Pawa2 for their EPG and metadata needs, and it’s helping us shape it into the perfect one-stop solution for any broadcast requirements. 2018 is shaping up to be an extremely productive year.”
