Pro Plus tops TV revenues in SE Europe

Slovenia’s Pro Plus was the leading commercial TV broadcaster in Southeast Europe in 2017, in terms of revenue, according to a report by regional portal Media Daily.

The top 20 includes eight TV channels from Serbia, four from Croatia, four from Bosnia and Herzegovina, three from Slovenia, and one from Macedonia.

Pro Plus, which broadcasts the Pop TV and Kanal A pay-TV channels, achieved total revenues of €61.9 million, up by €7 million on 2016.

Croatia’s Nova TV moved from third to second place in the ranking, with €52.5 million (€52.4 million in 2016), while Pink International from Serbia dropped from first to third place with €52.4 million (€57.9 million).

Croatia’s RTL Hrvatska maintained fourth place with €40.7 million (€41.2 million).

The biggest growth was registered by Al Jazeera Balkans, growing 240 per cent to €19.2 million and moving from 10th to 7th place in the ranking.

B92 from Serbia (€11.4 million), Slovenia’s Antenna SL TV (no data) and Macedonia’s Sitel (€7.3 million) close the top 10 ranking.
