Huawei launches OTT platform

Huawei, the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, has launched its own OTT platform, Huawei Video, in Spain and Italy – with plans to expand into other European countries.

The service, available on Huawei and Honor devices, offers a library of local and International content via agreements with  RTVE, eOne, Zoomin, Inverleigh, Daluqiao, Thema and Atresmedia, among others.

Huawei Video offers three options to access the service: free of charge, subscription and transactional.

The free option includes trailers, extra content and the pilot episode of various TV series in SD. The subscription option costs €4.99 a month with TV series, short videos, documentaries and sports content. The transactional option allows customers to hire TV series and films in a 48 hour window for €1.99 and €2.99 respectively.
