Avanti Communications has successfully signed up a couple of major resellers of capacity.

A Master Service Agreement (MSA) has been concluded with Afrique Telecom, the France headquartered operator of satellite-based broadband over Central/West Africa which connects consumers and businesses throughout the area serviced by Avanti’s new Hylas-4 satellite.

Avanti has struck a similar agreement with Paratus Group, a Pan-African telecommunications operator, to provide high-speed satellite broadband across Africa.

The MSA extends the strategic partnership between Avanti and Paratus. Maxwell Technology who are part of the Paratus Group have been using Avanti’s HYLAS 2 services since 2012. Through Avanti’s latest satellite, Hylas 4, Paratus will provide cost-effective and reliable broadband services into regions across Africa that suffer from unreliable or non-existent internet connectivity.

The Avanti partnership will enable Paratus to deliver high capacity sites for carriers and telecom providers to directly access cloud and content platforms in Africa’s largest Datacentre, making services more efficient and cost-effective.

Avanti Country Manager and Sales Director for Southern Africa, Brenden Pronk, said: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Paratus and support the delivery of affordable broadband across Africa, supporting our mission to help liberate the potential of communities and businesses wherever they are located.”
