The six French PSB groups – France Télévisions, Radio France, France Medias Monde, TV5Monde, Arte and INA – have partnered to deliver a cultural social network called Culture Prime.

The 100 per cent digital offering will offer around 15 to 25 original short form videos each week produced by each of the partners in association with various cultural institutions and museums. They will be distributed on a dedicated page on Facebook and YouTube. A Twitter account will also be launched in the coming weeks.

The project involves a distribution network that integrates all the six media groups and their 13 Facebook accounts.

The service has an ethos to provide culture and knowledge to a wider audience. TV5Monde will focus on its French-speaking international community while France Medias Monde will utilise the assets from international news channel France 24 and RFI radio station.

When aggregated, the digital social activity of the partners currently totals 80 million followers on Facebook and 35 million followers on Twitter.

“Culture is to be shared” says the slogan of the new service.

There is no specific budget for the project inside each group.
