StarTimes adds ‘ON’ for Nigerian OTT

Chinese-backed StarTimes Group has launched an OTT service in Nigeria, branded as ‘ON’.

Currently, there are more than 150 channels in over 10 languages available on the StarTimes ON online platform with over 140 channels being available free to subscribers.

“More excellent international and local channels will be put online, and diverse and rich contents will always be the core of StarTimes ON,” said Ariel Lin, Operations Director of StarTimes ON. Channels available include Fox News, BBC World News, France 24, Bloomberg, AMC Movies and Fox Life.

Mr Lin added that StarTimes ON had also imported many national channels dedicated to African users including NTA, ZNBC, TVM, TBC, KTN, RTI and RT.

StarTimes also announced a 50 percent discount offer on the second month for renewing subscribers who paid for two months viewing from Dec 1st-Jan 31st in advance. “The Christmas season often come with a lot of expenses hence our reason to make it a bit more bearable by offering 50 per cent discount when you pay for two months,” said a company statement.
