Eurosport’s 360-degree, all-screen approach to powering people’s passions for cycling is reaping  rewards at the Giro d’Italia with significant growth in people watching its coverage and consuming its content than 12 months ago across Europe.

Key statistics (after five stages):

  • Second best start to a Giro d’Italia for 10 years across the Eurosport network (only bettered in 2017)
  • Fans are enjoying Eurosport’s in-depth analysis of the action itself at this year’s Giro d’Italia on its digital platforms with a 12 per cent increase in unique visitors on web and app
  • Average television audiences on the rise (+15 per cent) versus 2018 across the Eurosport network
  • Double-digit growth in Poland (+69 per cent vs 2018) Spain (+73 per cent), Sweden (+38 per cent), Denmark (+26 per cent) and Germany (+28 per cent)
  • Fans numbers watching the Giro d’Italia on Eurosport’s OTT platform – the Eurosport Player – have also increased dramatically so far versus 2018 (+16 per cent)
