Love Island ‘real hit’ with Virgin customers

June 19, 2019

Love Island is proving a real hit with Virgin Media TV customers this summer with thousands watching on demand, making it the most viewed daily show.

The ITV2 reality series airs throughout the week and daily requests to catch up on the latest episode – as well as Love Island Unseen bits and Love Island Aftersun – equates to a quarter of all on demand viewing on Virgin Media’s TV platform.

On Saturday June 8th alone, Love Island received five times as many views as the second most popular show, Coronation Street. And since Season 5 started on Monday June 3rd, it has outperformed all other on demand programming on a daily basis.

Love Island’s dominance doesn’t stop there as it also boasts the highest average daily on demand views of any show in 2019.

David Bouchier, Chief Digital Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media, said: “It is what it is: Love Island has most definitely caught the eye of our TV customers this summer with daily views of the hit series blowing all other shows out of the water. With more action to come from the villa, we expect its popularity to continue right up until the final episode.”
