Adams takes DCMS brief

Nigel Adams MP has been named Minister of State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as new Prime Minister Boris Johnson continues his ministerial appointments. The post had remained vacant since the resignation of Margot James on July 18th after voting for a proposal to block a ‘no-deal’ Brexit.

Adams was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Wales Office and Assistant Government Whip from November 2018 to April 2019.

He was previously a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. He was also previously Government Whip (Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury), from January 2018 to November 2018.

He was an Assistant Government Whip from June 2017 to January 2018.

He became the Conservative MP for Selby and Ainsty in May 2010.
