Power Rangers to morph into action at MCM Comic Con

September 5, 2019

MCM London will be playing host to a trio of Power Rangers stars next month, with Jason David Frank, Catherine Sutherland and Nakia Burrise all heading to Britain’s biggest pop culture show to sign autographs and meet their fans.

Famous as the original Green Ranger, Jason David Frank’s character Tommy Oliver became the face of the franchise, morphing into the most different power rangers in the show’s 26 year history and appearing in more than 225 episodes. A highly-accomplished martial artist, Franks starred in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers Dino Thunder and several spin-off movies, as well as cameoing in later series – most recently last year’s Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.

Australian actor Catherine Sutherland starred as Katherine ‘Kat’ Hillard, the second Pink Power Ranger, in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. An Aussie like her actor, Kat was the final ranger to join the team during the MMPR era, taking over as Pink Ranger from Amy Jo Johnson’s Kimberly Hart partway through the show’s third season. Catharine returned as the statuesque Kat in sequel series Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Turbo, as well as the feature-length Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie.

After making her debut as young teen Tanya Sloan in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Nakia Burrise became a member of the main cast for sequel series Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Turbo. After the Zeo Crystal made the tomboyish Tanya the same age as the other Rangers, she joined the team as the new Yellow Ranger, learning martial arts from Tommy Oliver and Adam Park. Big-hearted and fiercely loyal, Burrise’s Tanya also starred in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, where she pilots the Dune Star Turbozord.
