Disney+ free trial goes live in Netherlands

September 12, 2019

Disney+ is allowing consumers in The Netherlands to sign-up for a limited pilot phase for its soon-to-launch Disney+ SVoD service.

The service, currently available via Google Play in the country, will be free to use until it officially goes live in November. The trial period is intended to technically optimise the platform before its official roll out.

A fairly limited catalogue is currently available (although the entire Staw Wars franchise to date is available to stream) – but users have been able to get a first glimpse at the interface which looks similar to rival streaming services such as Netflix and Prime Video. A carousel of featured movies and series is placed prominently at the top of the screen, followed by quick links to content sections for Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars etc.

Disney+ goes live in the US, Canada, The Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand on November 12th
