Virgin Media customers to get Marvel’s Avengers skins and early beta access
August 13, 2020
Virgin Media customers can give their Marvel’s Avengers Heroes a wardrobe change with an exclusive suite of outfits when the game is released on September 4th. They’re also being given early access to the beta this weekend.
The stylish outfits, which are only available to Virgin Media customers in the UK, are inspired by developer Crystal Dynamics’ favourite comic book looks featuring the Virgin Media’s iconic red colour and can be added to all of the main characters.
To help get gamers ready ahead of launch of the game next month, Virgin Media is also giving its customers an incredible opportunity to get early access to Marvel’s Avengers beta between Friday 14 and Sunday 16 August.
Marvel’s Avengers allows players to personalise the attire of their favourite Heroes and customise abilities and moves to suit a player’s particular play style.
As part of Virgin Media’s partnership with Marvel’s Avengers, its customers are being given unprecedented perks, including the ability to give the Super Heroes new outfits that can’t be worn by anyone else at the time of launch.
When the game is released on September 4, Virgin Media customers will have 90 days to claim the exclusive outfits which can be applied to each main character. These include:
- Hulk: Ascendancy Outfit
- Black Widow: Lucent Shadow Outfit
- Captain America: Burning Might Outfit
- Iron Man: Jet Stream Armor Outfit
- Ms. Marvel: Event Horizon Outfit
- Thor: Light Breaker Outfit
The Virgin Media outfits will make the Marvel’s Avengers characters look the part and stand out in-game and will be something Virgin Media customers can rightly wear with pride when playing online with friends or those in the community.
Virgin Media customers should also keep an eye out on social media and streaming platforms as there are more surprises and exclusive content to come from this great partnership with Marvel’s Avengers.
Virgin Media has thousands of beta codes to give away to customers on their preferred gaming platform – Xbox or PC – when entering online.
This unrivalled access, which is only open to gamers who have pre-ordered the game on PC and Xbox (PS4 open beta for all players), means that anyone can download and play the beta.
The beta will let players get exclusive hands-on with the game ahead of full launch. It will be the first opportunity to experience single-player or co-op War Zone missions where players can connect and join forces with friends online as they play as their favourite Marvel’s Avengers characters.
Ahead of the beta opening, Virgin Media has teamed up with the Arekkz Gaming squad to give Virgin Media customers a run-down of what to expect. The squad provide top tips and inside knowledge of their own experience playing Marvel’s Avengers.
Cilesta Van Doorn, Director of Brand and Marketing at Virgin Media, said: “There is no better time to be a gamer, a fan of Marvel’s Avengers and, of course, a Virgin Media customer. Not only are we giving our customers incredibly stylish and exclusive skins, we are also giving them early beta access to assemble with friends online and play as their favourite Super Heroes.”
Karl Stewart, Head of Worldwide Strategic Partnerships for Square Enix, said: “We’re so excited to be partnering with Virgin Media across the entire Marvel’s Avengers campaign. We’re delighted to be able to offer Virgin Media customers the opportunity to jump in and experience what’s it’s like to be an Avenger ahead of the game’s official release on September 4th. As we close in on launch, we’re delighted to be coming together to offer their customers something unique and creative. These skins are all about taking things to another level.”
Not only do Virgin Media customers benefit from the UK’s fastest widely available broadband speeds, they’re also being spoilt with exclusive access to an array of Marvel’s Avengers content, such as early access to the beta last month.
In October 2019, Virgin Media gave gamers the first UK play of Marvel’s Avengers at EGX. And if that wasn’t enough, one month later, Virgin Media hosted an exclusive Marvel’s Avengers event in London, giving its customers another opportunity to get hands-on with the demo whilst getting to see character costumes and artwork from the game.
Marvel’s Avengers is a story-driven, third-person action-adventure game. Players reassemble and rebuild their Avengers roster in an original, cinematic single-player campaign, then battle solo or online alongside friends as part of the Avengers Initiative, with new missions around the globe. In Marvel’s Avengers, gamers can customize Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and then harness their unique powers to defend the world from escalating threats for years to come.
