UK-based Orbex Express Launch has unexpectedly lost its CEO. Chris Larmour has resigned, according to the company, so that the business can rise to the “next level”.
Larmour, who has led the business since it was founded in 2015, was leaving to allow a focus on new goals, said Orbex.
Orbex said it is preparing for the next stage of the company’s growth and the focus is shifting to broader strategic goals over the next decade.
Bart Markus, chairman of the board of directors, commented: “Chris has been a key part of all our successes to date, and leaves the company in a strong position. We’re grateful for all his energy and commitment and wish him well on his next venture.”
Kristian Von Bengtson, the company’s CDO, will serve as interim CEO ahead of a search for a permanent replacement.
Orbex is developing a small rocket called Prime, at its HQ at Forres, near the Sutherland spaceport in the north of Scotland. The Sutherland site is planned to be capable of launching 12 rockets annually and the first Prime launch is expected this year.
