SphereTrax appoints Rostoucher as Head of Sales and Marketing
April 25, 2023
SphereTrax, the music licensing platform that puts the power and rewards in musicians’ hands, has announced the appointment of Louis Rostoucher to the newly created role of Head of Sales and Marketing. Rostoucher boards the music licensing platform to lead its marketing strategies, overseeing the company’s music and AV projects, as well as its sales division.
The hire follows the recent news that SphereTrax has secured £250,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by early-stage focused venture capital firm Jenson Funding Partners, followed by an additional £100,000 from Fintage House, an independent Dutch company that deals with Film, TV and Digital rights.
Rostoucher joins from PlayNetwork, a music tech business providing in-store and digital curated music, original and managed video programs, content licensing, and consumer insights. He led strategies for Apple Music for Business.
Rostoucher joins the growing SphereTrax team to build on its marketing strategies and launch new campaigns, offering consultancy for its roster of clients across the film, television, advertising and gaming industries. He will also collaborate with music supervisors and artistic directors to produce new licencing opportunities for artists.
Founded in 2022 by award-winning composer, sound designer, producer and mixer, Sefi Carmel, SphereTrax puts the creator first, empowering them with the ability to make the best deals for their music and keep up to 75 per cent of royalties.
Users of SphereTrax range from media production companies to brands and creative agencies to freelance UGC creators. SphereTrax’s unique search engine feature allows users to browse, search and source songs, instrumentals and samples swiftly, whilst also being able to connect with the artists directly. The platform ensures the highest quality of music is made available, as tracks uploaded to the platform are converted to Dolby Atmos immersive sound technology as standard.
Users are also able to select from pre-set licences on the platform, with automated contracts and payment forms available to streamline the process for creators. SphereTrax uses Blockchain technology Bitcoin SV to ensure a transparent licensing process, meaning payments can be made in either cash or cryptocurrencies and withdrawn immediately.
Rostoucher said: “When I first heard about SphereTrax and Sefi’s ambition to ensure artists receive a fairer share of the returns for their music, I knew there was nothing else that compared to the platform. I am thrilled to be a part of the company’s growth, creating more opportunities for musicians, and to be working with the outstanding team on expanding its presence in the market while collaborating with producers, creators and marketers around the world.”
Carmel added: “Louis’ background working with Apple Music and PlayNetwork, as well as being a big music fan, make him perfect for the role. We’re delighted to be growing our team and expanding following our recent investment and feel excited to officially launch the platform with Louis on board.”
