September 15, 2023
Viaccess-Orca (VO), a specialist providing OTT and TV platforms, content protection, and advanced data solutions, has announced that CNT, the largest telecommunications provider in Ecuador, will use VO’s Cloud Platform, multi-DRM solution, Secure Video Player, and multiscreen applications for the delivery of its new CNTPlay OTT service. Leveraging VO’s end-to-end suite of solutions, CNTPlay can deliver live, VOD, start-over, and catch-up TV content to subscribers for a secure and engaging video streaming experience. These services are delivered through a legal contract between CNT EP and Seholme S.A. (part of Kypus IT Group). Kypus IT is a provider of systems design and telco services in Ecuador, which is helping to streamline the deployment of CNTPlay as a specialised contractor and integrator.
“Video streaming consumption is ubiquitous; we wanted an efficient and secure way to offer our OTT service,” said Diego Perez, Video Contract Administrator at CNT. “VO’s Cloud Platform is a full-service solution that reduces complexity, simplifies OTT deployments, and optimizes service management, creating a foundation for us to become the top television and entertainment source on every screen in Ecuador.”
VO’s Cloud Platform will provide CNT with a complete, data-driven solution for OTT delivery, including a multi-platform video player, multi-DRM, and customisable TV apps that support smartphones, tablets and computers. With the cloud-based video service delivery platform, CNT can quickly launch and monetise its new OTT service, while ensuring unparalleled content protection. VO’s Cloud Platform will scale and handle traffic spikes during live events.
“We are thrilled to team up with CNT and help them bridge the divide into the video streaming world,” said Philippe Léonetti, CEO at Viaccess-Orca. “By adopting our innovative Cloud Platform, CNT will be able to quickly start delivering its new video streaming service and continually provide subscribers with the most advanced features.”
