Celebrity Bake Off heading to Spain

BBC Studios Distribution has licensed the Love Productions format, The Great Celebrity Bake Off, to Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE.

The Spanish series, titled Bake Off – Famosos al Horno, will be produced locally by Boxfish to air on RTVE’s, La 1 Channel. The Spanish adaptation will be presented by local actor and presenter Paula Vazquez and sees 14 celebrities from the world of music, sports, acting and gastronomy, including Rocío Carrasco and Ana Boyer, compete to be crowned the best pastry chef in Spain and win a prize that they will donate to the charity of their choice. In order to win the coveted title and worthy prize, the celebrities will take part in a series of new and increasingly difficult baking tasks, all under the watchful eye of the Bake Off judges which include the multi-award-winning chef Paco Roncero.

Since The Great Bake Off format was first adapted internationally in 2012, it has gone on to become a global phenomenon with almost 200 series recorded worldwide and over 2,000 episodes spanning countries such as Argentina, Australia, Germany, Japan, Kenya and Thailand.
