FilmRise, the New York City-based film and television studio and streaming network, CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership, a joint venture between AMC Networks International UK and Paramount Global, Blue Ant Studios, a leading worldwide producer and distributor and Back 2 Back Productions, a UK production company, have green-lit the second season of their hit true crime co-production, Killers: Caught on Camera. The programme gives viewers a front-row seat to footage and analysis of bad decisions and acts of pure evil. The announcement was made jointly at the 2024 Realscreen Summit by Max Einhorn, SVP of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at FilmRise, Ben Barrett, Global Head of Content Financing & Partnerships, Unscripted, Blue Ant Studios, and David Notman-Watt from Back 2 Back Productions.

Einhorn said: “We are delighted to announce that Blue Ant will once again join us as co-producers for the upcoming season of this captivating and addictive true-crime program. It comes as no surprise to us that audiences are eagerly anticipating a second season. We look forward to the longevity of the series.”

Barrett added: “Season 1 performed very well for us in the global market and we are excited to take the second season out to our international buyers. FilmRise, CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership and Back2Back Productions have been exceptional partners and we cannot wait to join forces once again and deliver even more exciting content for an international audience.

Killer’s Caught on Camera Season 2 will follow the same premise and format as Season 1 adding 10 new episodes to the series. The programme captures criminals in the act, all while remaining completely unaware of the watchful eyes of home security cameras, CCTV, and dashcams. The extremely valuable footage helps detectives catch the perpetrators and solve cases.

Family members of victims and law enforcement provide first-hand accounts of how these chilling events unfolded while experts like Criminal Psychologist Dr. Julia Shaw dissect the darkest corners of the mind. Shaw, a psychologist specialising in false memory and criminal psychology, is most notably known as the co-host of BBC Sounds’ podcast Bad People which analyses and tries to understand the behaviour of murderers, sex offenders, cannibals, and serial killers.

Season 1 of Killer’s Caught on Camera” Season 2 was a ratings success when it premiered on FilmRise True Crime streaming channels receiving over 22 million views in its first run.
