Bluey’s Big Play heads to Europe

Hit theatre show Bluey’s Big Play The Stage Show will visit Europe following sell-out shows across Australia, the UK, Ireland and North America.
Bluey’s Big Play, a new theatrical adaptation of the BAFTA & Emmy® award-winning children’s television series produced by Ludo Studio, will hit the stage across Spain (under the name of El show de Bluey), Paris and Luxembourg (under the name Bluey le spectacle).
Audiences of all ages will get to see Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli, as they’ve never seen them before, as the Heeler family embark on their first live theatre show featuring brilliantly created puppets and iconic sets.
Based on an original new story written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, the theatrical adaptation contains new music by Bluey composer, Joff Bush.

Bluey’s Big Play The Stage Show is presented by BBC Studios and Andrew Kay in association with Windmill Theatre Co.

The stage show has enjoyed much success in Australia, where it premiered in Bluey’s hometown Brisbane and went on to perform 447 times across 65 venues, including the Sydney Opera House. The tour is currently in North America where it premiered at the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York. The show is also currently touring the UK and Ireland, where it premiered in December last year at the iconic Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London. Bluey’s Big Play will also be making its Asia premiere in Singapore at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, from 13th June this year and will make its premiere in the Middle East at the Etihad Arena Abu Dhabi from August 30th. Bluey’s Big Play has been seen by nearly 1 million fans worldwide.
Since bursting on to TV screens in Australia in 2018, Bluey has enjoyed a plethora of critical success at home and abroad, recently winning a 2022 BAFTA Children & Young People Award in the International category and picking up its consecutive fifth AACTA Best Children’s Programme award to add to an International Emmy and numerous awards for craft and production around the world.
A ratings hit, the series streams to audiences in Spain, France and Luxembourg across Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney+ through a global broadcasting deal between BBC Studios Kids & Family and Disney Branded Television, as well as to US and global audiences (outside of Australia, New Zealand and China)In France, Bluey is also available on free to air channel France 5.
It was the second most streamed show in 2023 in the US, doubling its viewing time from 2022 to 43.9 billion viewing minutes. In its native Australia, the show goes out on ABC where it is #1 children’s show in Australia and it is also rated #1 show on CBeebies in the UK.
