Ted Lasso cast heading to MCM Comic Con

March 22, 2024

ReedPop has announced that the stars of Ted Lasso are leaving Nelson Road Stadium for ExCeL London this May to attend MCM Comic Con.
MCM Comic Con is the ultimate celebration of all things pop culture and geekdom. The convention hosts an array of guests, authors, artists, exhibitors, cosplayers and fans who come together from across a wide array of fandoms. These fandoms range from Anime to Dungeons & Dragons, and now, Ted Lasso.
Ted Lasso took the world by storm throughout its three-season run on Apple TV+, largely thanks to its loveable cast of characters. Now, a star-studded lineup of the actors who played AFC Richmond’s underdog footballers will be meeting fans at MCM Comic Con on May 25th and 26th.

Attendees will be able to meet…
  • Billy Harris (appearing May 25th and 26th) – Through his portrayal of Colin Hughes, Harris took viewers through his emotional journey coming out as AFC Richmond’s first openly gay footballer, cementing himself as a role model for other LGBTQIA+ athletes across the world.
  • Cristo Fernández (May 25th and 26th) – In his role as the always optimistic striker, Dani Rojas, Fernández never failed to bring a smile to both his teammates and viewers’ faces. Responsible for some of the show’s most iconic lines, Fernández became a key member of the team both on and off the pitch.
  • Kola Bokinni (May 25th and 26th) – As Richmond’s headstrong Team Captain, Isaac McAdoo, Kola’s character grew more than perhaps any of his teammates throughout the show’s three-year run, going from stubborn bully to inspiring leader. Kola Bokinni is also known for his role as Leyton in Top Boy.
  • Phil Dunster (May 25th and 26th) – A transformation to rival Isaac’s, Phil plays Jamie Tartt, AFC Richmond’s top striker and toughest personality. Throughout Ted Lasso’s three seasons, Dunster expertly portrayed Jamie’s growth from a cocky playboy to a caring friend and a fan-favourite character.
  • Toheeb Jimoh (appearing May 26th) – AFC Richmond’s defender turned midfielder, Jimoh portrays Sam Obisanya, the loveable football player and restauranteur. Moving from the Nigerian Football League to the Premier League, Jimoh shows that optimism and teamwork go a long way to success, both in football and food.
