Complete Technology Group achieves BSF Champion status
May 9, 2024
Complete Technology Group (CTG) has completed Stage 2 of the Building a Safer Future (BSF) Champion Assessment, becoming the first company in the telecoms sector to do so.
BSF is a non-profit organisation committed to raising standards in building safety and supporting culture change in the built environment. Its Champion status is granted to organisations that can successfully demonstrate their leadership, culture and processes have building safety and risk reduction embedded within them.
Completing the second phase of the assessment and spearheading the way forward in building safety, CTG proved it is committed to an ongoing building safety journey in relation to the following areas: construction product safety, supply chain, managing change, stakeholder engagement, and audit and review.
Chris McLain, CEO, Complete Technology Group, said: “CTG is not only committed to meeting industry standards but exceeding them and we’re delighted to continue our building safety journey with BSF Champion status. The process requires us to open ourselves up to scrutiny, uncovering any blind spots in our approach to building safety. So, to successfully complete the second stage – and become the only telecoms firm to do so – is testimony to our people and our culture. We’re improving safety and quality of fibre installations in blocks of flats through our robust audit and adherence to Golden Thread principles. We’ve followed an incredibly detailed and independent review across our entities to achieve BSF status, giving landlords, residents and telcos confidence in our governance and the quality of what we do.”
Founded in 2020 to raise standards in the safety and quality of digital infrastructure, CTG acts as a bridge for landlords and telecommunications providers, facilitating for both parties so residents living in blocks of flats (also known as Multi-Dwelling Units) can gain access to safe, reliable, ultra-fast connectivity.
James Clarke, Strategic Asset Manager for One Housing Group, commented: “As Landlords, it’s so important to know that partners working in our buildings meet our stringent safety standards. It’s encouraging to see CTG leading the way from a telecoms perspective – all organisations involved in the construction, management, and servicing of properties must be able to demonstrate their credentials when it comes to risk and building safety, so it’s great to see organisations like CTG committing to positive change.”
Gary Townsend-Vila, Interim Chief Executive of Building a Safer Future, added: “Our process is rigorous, and we’re pleased to see CTG progress through Stage 2 of the Champion assessment. Given the volume of building works in the telecoms sector right now, we’re encouraged by their progress, and we wish CTG well on their continuing building safety journey.”
