Telefonica launches Movistar Fusion TV

Spain’s Telefonica has once again reshuffled its pay-TV service with a new convergent offer branded ‘Movistar Fusion TV’, available on all screens (smartphones, tablets, PCs TV sets), and with new functionalities like PVR and up to 350 hours of storage and multi-signal transmissions of sports events.

The new TV offer includes mobile and fixed telephony, high speed Internet access and pay TV either via ADSL or optic fibre with prices between €75 and €107 a month.

For ADSL subs, Telefonica markets two offers: Movistar Fusion TV ADSL and Movistar Fusion TV Total. The former will be for €75 a month including speeds of up to 10 Mbps, fixed and mobile telephone, access to Movistar TV Mini, multiscreen service and one of the three new packages called Para Todos, Futbol or Energy. Movistar Fusion TV Total will cost €95 and will also include VoD and the three packages.

For fibre optic subs, Telefonica offers Movistar Fusion TV Total Fibra for €107 a month, which includes Internet speed of up to 100 Mbps, fixed and mobile telephony, Movistar TV Mini, multiscreen service, VoD and the three packages Para Todos, Futbol and Energy.

The three packages may also be purchased separately at a price of €20 a month each, with Telefonica planning to launch other options in April from €45 a month.

The Para Todos package will include a wide range of channels targeted at families. Futboll will include the Spanish Liga, the Champions, the Europe League or the Premier League, whereas Energy will have channels dedicated to the most important sport events related to tennis, Formula One, Motorcyling.

With the new offer, subscribers will be able to record up to 350 hours, including HD recordings. The PVR functionality will also soon include the possibility of recording the last seven days of all programmes. Also, sport events will be able to be transmitted through a multisignal system.
