Monterosa, a London-based company specialising in real-time mobile interactivity and its Santiago-based partner, digital entertainment specialist FunXperience, have created a companion app for 44th Copa America football tournament in South America, which runs from June 11th with the final on the July 4th.
The app, available in both iOS and Android versions, was commissioned by Canal 13, Chile’s largest commercial broadcaster and is sponsored by mobile giant Claro, the headline TV sponsor for the Copa America 2015.
The app offers football fans a richer viewing experience and a deeper level of engagement by allowing them to vote for their man-of-the-match during games, play quizzes, and access polls and predictions.
Simon Brickle, Monterosa’s chief operating officer, said: “FunXperience and Canal 13 have already proved beyond doubt with the Vertigo app — which generated more than 1,100,000 votes and was largely responsible for the show becoming Chile’s number-one Twitter trend for two weeks running — that they have the skill and vision to make a number one TV related app using the LViS platform in very little time. The Copa America app will build on that success to provide Chile’s football fans with a whole new level of engagement with the beautiful game.”
