Australia: nbn has 3m activated premises

nbn, the company building Australia’s national broadband network, has reached the important milestone of three million activated premises on the nbn broadband access network from a total of six million premises that are now ready to connect.
nbn has activated two million premises in the last 18 months. From June 2017 to June 2019 nbn expects to activate a total 4.5 million premises.
Peter Ryan, Chief Network Engineering Officer at nbn said: “We’re regularly activating more than 40,000 premises every week, which means we’re pretty much activating a city the size of Canberra every single month. This huge increase naturally puts pressure on the customer service experience. We’re already hard at work doing what we can to improve the connection experience and the online experience once people are connected. Our focus is on making sure we connect users to the nbn access network in the best way possible and that we keep the network up and running so it’s there when users need it.”
