miniCASTER to stream live for a Swiss TV Network

March 16, 2011

As part of the “Live Revolution Roadmap” miniCASTER, the world´s first hardware-based H.264 live streaming encoder in pocket-size was shown at IBC 2010 in Amsterdam for the first time. Now it is time to hand out the first devices in order to be tested under real conditions as part of a beta test program. Therefore the regional TV station TeleBasel in Switzerland uses the miniCASTER during the three days of the traditional Basler Fasnacht (Carnival of Basel). The latest scenes and emotions from the streets are broadcasted live on the TeleBasel website using the miniCASTER.

As an existing Livestreaming customer of TV1.EU TeleBasel publishes its full television program on its website. As TeleBasel producers are on the road every day and have the need to publish their contributions very quickly, the station has a strong need for an affordable and truly mobile but high quality solution. Since miniCASTER makes Livestreaming as easy as a phone call it is the perfect companion for these tasks. Now everyone is able to set-up the camera, plug the miniCASTER and go live on air within seconds and free of hassle.

Michael Westphal: “This event once again shows how easy it is to stream “One-to-many” live and record at the same time with the miniCASTER. We are very pleased to see how excited the TeleBasel crew is, while working with this one of a kind device.”
