Sky Italia has launched Sky Go, a service which allows streaming of sports, football, news and entertainment on the iPad and the iPad2. The service, which represents Sky Italia’s first attempt to provide content on alternative platforms and emerging portable devices, will be extended to Android tablets in the coming weeks.

With Sky Go and a simple application that can be downloaded for free, Sky Italia subscribers will get easier access to the channels included in their pay-TV package, via a Wi-Fi or 3G mobile network connection.

The channel line-up includes: Sky Calcio 1 to 10, Sky Sport 1 to 3, Sky SuperCalcio, Sky Sport Extra, Sky Sport24, Sky TG24, Sky Uno as well as 2 channels for extra/interactive content. Sky Go is free of charge until December 31, from then on it will cost €7 per month (€3 for subscribers of the Multivision or Home Pack options).
