Advanced television entertainment market company TiVo and Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, have agreed a partnership that will enable operators around the world to provide a fully integrated video experience for their subscribers, while protecting revenue streams through the security features of Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS).

The pair say the combination of TiVo technology and VCAS software-based security will provide a seamless and safe content choice for video consumption through advanced hybrid set-top boxes (STBs) that utilise TiVo’s user interface and through TiVo’s tablet, smartphone, and browser-based experiences.

An important layer of the so-called ‘TiVo Everywhere’ experience is ensuring that the operator’s content is secure as it is ported and consumed across devices. The Verimatrix VCAS solutions provides a complete security infrastructure for advanced multi-network pay-TV services running the TiVo user interface.

The competitive challenges faced by operators demand the deployment of multi-network, multi-screen services. Providing an integrated experience across these touch points demands a sophisticated combination of user interface, metadata and security technologies,” said Tom Munro, CEO, Verimatrix. “We feel that a TiVo and Verimatrix partnership provides a compelling combination of strengths to optimise quality, functionality and the consumer experience.”
