Marlin DRM is an open standard for content protection founded 8 years ago by Intertrust, a leader in trusted distributed computing, along with Sony, Samsung, Philips and Panasonic. It is now the content protection technology of choice for numerous national Connected TV initiatives across Europe and in Asia. It has been chosen by the French HD forum for its TNT 2.0 technical specifications and supports version 1.5, the latest version of the HbbTV specification. Intertrust is the world’s only provider of advanced multiplatform OEM SDKs for Marlin servers and clients.
“Marlin is the DRM reference in many Digital TV markets including France, Spain, Italy and the UK. Its open-standard strategy and ability to support the HbbTV 1.5 specification has made it the natural choice for a DRM technology and Intertrust’s turnkey solution integrates very nicely into our middleware stack”, said Regis Saint Girons, httv’s CEO. “With the integration of Intertrust’s Marlin solution and HbbTV 1.5, our httvLink solution is in a strong position to be a major contributor to the successful deployment of TNT 2.0 in 2013”.
“HbbTV is an key market for Marlin and by thereby Intertrust’s content protection solutions. We are happy to partner with httv to integrate our SDK and cloud service into a fully-compliant Marlin solution for HbbTV” said Gilles Boccon-Gibod, Senior Vice President of business development EMEA, and Chief Architect for Intertrust.
