Entone Integrates LG ‘Netcast’ Platform

Hybrid TV and Connected Home solutions provider Entone, has confirmed the integration of LG Electronics’ Netcast media streaming platform with Entone’s hybrid media gateway. The combined solution is designed to deliver linear TV and OTT online TV services to Internet-connected consumer electronics devices without the need for a traditional set-top box.
Entone has teamed up with LG to develop a streaming player application specifically targeting subscribers of broadband service providers, selected cable operators and other MVPDs. The first LG Netcast-enabled device supported by Entone will be the LG SP530 Media Player. The SP530 supports leading OTT video services such as Netflix, VUDU, Hulu and YouTube.
