AOL content for Barcroft TV

July 8, 2014

Barcroft Media, the UK factual content producer and provider, has signed a deal with premium video platform, AOL On, to feature its burgeoning short-form content channel on Barcroft TV.

Under the terms of the deal, Barcroft Media content will now be available to view across the AOL On Network, the on-demand video platform. AOL On curates and syndicates AOL’s own and third party video content across a network of leading publishers globally. The AOL On Network consists of more than 900,000 premium videos covering news, entertainment, style and technology and is currently live in US, Canada and launched in the UK in March this year.

Barcroft Media has existing content deals for Barcroft TV in place with MSN UK, Yahoo, it’s Japanese subsidiary GyaO! and China’s YouKu.

Having just surpassed 500,000 YouTube subscribers for Barcroft TV, the company expects to break the 1 billion views barrier in the next 12 months.

“Partnering with AOL is the latest step forward in our mission to become the leading global provider of short form factual content. AOL On is the perfect home for Barcroft TV and we hope to announce similar deals in the near future” said Barcroft Media head of digital, Alex Morris.
