Italy: Netflix launches Oct 22

On-demand streaming platform Netflix is set to launch in Italy on October 22nd.
A basic package with one streaming session and content in SD will cost €7.99 per month; a standard plan allowing two simultaneous streaming sessions and HD content will cost €9.99; while the premium package, consisting of four streams at any one time and content in 4K, will cost €11.99.
In addition to PCs, Netflix can be viewed on smart TVs, tablets, smartphones and on video game consoles such as PlayStation, Xbox, Wii and Nintendo 3DS, through any internet provider. Content will be available with Italian subtitles and dubbing.
Thanks to a partnership with Telecom Italia, Netflix will also be available through TIMvision set-top boxes. Exclusive promotions will be available through its partnership with Vodafone, including Netflix subscriptions with the acquisition of fibre optic or 4G services.
Netflix gift cards will be available in major retail outlets such as Unieuro, MediaWorld, Esselunga, Mondadori and Euronics.
Netflix has also announced it will launch in Portugal on October 21st and pricing will be the same as in Italy.
