Urban entertainment and global media group, TRACE, has signed an agreement with total communications and entertainment provider, Digicel, making TRACE Urban, the first international urban music channel, and TRACE Sport Stars, the sport celebrity channel available on Digicel Play, its fibre TV service in Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago.
This deal sees TRACE Urban and TRACE Sport Stars responding to the strong appetite of Caribbean audiences for urban music and sports entertainment content. It also enhances the current partnership between TRACE and Digicel in Papua New Guinea.
Olivier Laouchez, Co-founder and CEO, TRACE, said, “TRACE has always had a special relationship with the Caribbean as many of the world-renowned music artists and sport celebrities originate from this region. TRACE and Digicel share the same vision to provide Caribbean audiences access to the best premium entertainment content. I’m convinced Digicel will be a solid partner for TRACE in this part of the world. We are thrilled that the Jamaican and Trinidadian Digicel Play subscribers can now enjoy our music and sports-celebrity focused channels.”
John Suranyi, CEO of Digicel Play in the Caribbean and Central America, comments; “We are all about bringing our customers the best in content, technology and service. The music and sports content that TRACE brings is sure to delight our youth audiences and sits nicely alongside our other music and sports offerings.”
