Vodafone Spain: Revenues down, subs up
May 17, 2016
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Vodafone Spain has reported a fall of 3.5 per cent to €4.468 billion in service revenues in the full fiscal year to March, mainly due to the negative impact of mobile handset financing. EBITDA grew by 4.2 per cent year-on-year, though, controlling costs and increasing synergies at ONO.
The company saw increases in the number of subscribers with the mobile service growing to 14.32 million from 14.18 million in the year-earlier quarter. The operator’s 4G network reached 91 per cent of the Spanish population as of the end of March, with the 4G customer base rising to 5.4 million.
Total fixed broadband customers amounted to 3.02 million compared to 2.81 million a year ago, with almost half, 1.5 million subs enjoying the convergent offer Vodafone One. FTTH customers grew by 18 per cent over the last year (308,000) to a total of 1,995,000.
Vodafone reports it now has 9.5 million TV subscribers – though this figure also includes its cable networks in Germany and Spain.
