Simplestream extends Racing UK PPV ‘Day Pass’

Live streaming and live-to-VoD solutions provider Simplestream is extending Racing UK’s ‘Day Pass’ service, a low-cost, no contract, pay-per-view service, that offers consumers a more convenient and flexible way to watch the UK’s top horse racing. For the first time, sign-ups can be made with just a few clicks using a mobile phone and payment is made directly through the consumer’s phone bill, appealing to increasing consumer appetite for immediate and seamless video services.

Racing UK broadcasts over 4,000 live horse races from 34 of the UK’s top racecourses every year. The automatic payment system, powered by Simplestream’s Media Manager solution, offers consumers instant access to live and catch-up footage, avoiding the need for credit card details to be entered or multiple sign-ups. The new service is an extension of the existing Day Pass service which is currently available to users on TV, mobile and online and allows consumers to watch as much content as they want until midnight, and only pay for the days they view.
