You.i TV closes $23m in growth capital

Reflecting the trend for sports media companies to invest in the interface platforms they need to drive engagement, subscriber aggregation and monetisation, cross-platform app software development specialist You.i TV has announced the closing of $23 million (€26.35m) in growth capital, led by Causeway Media Partners, an investment fund focused on sports media, sports technology, and related companies, joined by the company’s early backers WarnerMedia, Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, and Vistara Capital Partners.
Bob Higgins, partner at Causeway Media, has taken a board seat at You.i TV. These funds will fuel expansion of You.i TV’s global footprint, developer community, and reimagining the ad experience.
You.i TV founders Jason Flick and Stuart Russell started the company with the goal of changing the way that user experiences are built. You.i TV puts tools in the hands of development teams to unify their app strategy and build market-leading applications. Starting with video-first experiences, the product platform helps teams at every stage of their development process from initial concepts, to development, compiling, testing, and deploying applications in-market. You.i TV’s customer roster includes Fox, AT&T, WarnerMedia, NBA, NFL, and Twitch.
