ITV4, Premier Sports score live La Liga

February 25, 2019

Coverage of La Liga, Spain’s top flight football league, will be shown, free to air, on ITV4 for the rest of the season. A live match will air every Sunday along with a midweek highlights programme.

Niall Sloane, ITV Director of Sport, said: “This is good news for football fans who will be able to see on free to air television some of the world’s best players in action for some of the world’s biggest clubs in a league known for its high levels of skill and entertainment from now until the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, streaming service Premier Sports has also secured the rights to show four live games per week for the rest of the season. Eleven Sports will also continue to stream every La Liga game on its OTT service, but has lost its exclusivity deal.

Richard Sweeney, CEO of Premier Sports, commented: “This addition makes Premier Sports a must-have channel for football fans and underpins our drive to bring even more exceptional value to our customers as we continue to build our brand.”

“This is a fantastic moment for La Liga in the UK and Ireland,” added La Liga president Javier Tebas. “The best league in the world will be available to more fans than ever before. We are delighted to welcome Premier Sports and ITV Sport to our broadcaster stable in the UK and Ireland which already includes Eleven Sports.
