Viacom expands Paramount SVoD service in Poland

April 5, 2019

Viacom International Media Networks is expanding distribution of its Paramount branded SVoD service in Poland. The service, which is available in six markets in the Nordics and CEE, has now launched on Cyfrowy Polsat IPLA and will debut on Orange Poland in April, under the name Paramount Play.

These two new affiliate deals with leading operators Polsat and Orange will bolster Paramount Play’s presence in Poland following its launch in October 2018 with mobile operator Play and cable TV distributor Toya.

Paramount Play will be accessible to subscribers of Cyfrowy Polsat’s IPLA OTT ‘Film and Series’ package, offering a wide range of Paramount movies and scripted drama series such as Yellowstone premiering on April 7th, as well as popular MTV and Comedy Central content. Local productions available will include Warsaw Shore, Ex on the Beach Poland, Drunk History Poland and Comedy Club. As part of the agreement, Polsat will also offer a curated selection of Paramount movies through the PlusFun application exclusively available to Polkomtel mobile users.

When Paramount Play launches on Orange Poland, customers of its Orange TV platform will be able to watch more than 700 titles from Paramount Pictures and brands including MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.

Elena Balmont, SVP interim General Manager, VIMN Central Eastern Europe and Israel said: “We are delighted that these partnerships with leading distributors Polsat and Orange enables us to significantly scale our roll out of Paramount Play in our largest CEE market. This SVOD proposition brings our collaboration with partners to the next level, while diversifying our footprint with consumers. We look forward to further rollouts across CEE.”
