Mediaset Spain has entered the country’s pay-TV market with the launch of Mitele Plus.

The streaming-only pay-TV platform is available for a monthly fee of €2.50 or an annual fee of €25  and is accessible across laptops, tablets, mobile phones and shortly through Smart TVs.

The service will allow subscribers to watch all Mediaset TV content, even live transmissions, without any advertising.

“Mediaset España opens a new era in the commercial TV in our country with a TV content free of interruptions, [this is[ the first step towards an ambitious digital transformation plan that will strengthen televisión as the leading media” said the company.

Meanwhile, subscribers to the new TV platform Movistar+ Lite from Telefonica Movistar are watching it an average of two and a half hours a day.

Sergio Oslé, president of Movistar+, said: “The degree of acceptance by users is far exceeding our expectations and the level of consumption is very high, especially for a month like June, which makes us very hopeful for the new season in September”.

Movistar+ Lite’s offer includes original Movistar series and a wide selection of sport for €8 a month, with the first month free, and can be viewed simultaneously on two devices.
