Altice Portugal is expanding its Meo TV platform with new content, a new multi-view platform and the Amazon Prime Video streaming service.

A new non-linear service for movies and TV series Meo Filmes e Séries has been launched with content from broadcasters AXN, AMC, Cartoon Network and the BBC as well as from local movie distributor Cinemundo.

Also new is a multi-view platform, developed internally and available to subscribers of premium sports channels Eleven Sports and SportTV, allowing them to watch several matches simultaneously on the same screen.

Thanks to a partnership between Altice and Amazon on the European level, Portuguese subscribers will also get access to the Amazon Prime Video streaming service, including content in UHD and HDR.

Meo Filmes e Séries and Eleven Sports in multi-view are available for Meo customers for €9.99/month (only Meo Filmes e Séries costs €5/month). New customers signing up for the Fibra Ultra HD service will get six months free use of the package.

According to the director of the Consumer Segment of Altice Portugal, João Epifânio, the continued expansion of the offer along with investments in infrastructure have enabled Meo to achieve the position of co-leadership in the Portugese pay-TV market (alongside with NOS), with a 40 per cent market share.
