SCN to show MMA Amateur Championships

October 21, 2019

IMMAF has signed a broadcast deal with Sports Channel Network (SCN) for the post-event highlights programme from the 2019 IMMAF World Championships which take place in Bahrain between November 11th and 16th.

As well as showing the highlight programme, SCN, the free on-demand channel, will be using pre-recorded short form video content on social media to help promote the IMMAF and its flagship event, in the lead up to the competition. The 24-minute highlights programme features the best of the action, podium medals ceremonies and the most exciting rising stars in mixed martial arts.

Kerrith Brown, President of IMMAF, said: “Although we are the World Governing Body of amateur MMA, the UK is one of our major markets and our promotion strategy aims to leverage local appeal to grow globally. This agreement not only gives amateur mixed martial arts free to air reach in the UK but SCN are also committed to using their own resources to promote our sport. IMMAF can benefit from ad sales on SCN, which is a new revenue stream, while also benefitting from data analysis of who is watching our content.”

Paul Coster, Founder and CEO of SCN added: “We are thrilled to be able to partner with IMMAF, who are the world governing body for a sport that is growing dramatically and is especially appealing to young people. I am delighted that IMMAF has seen the benefit of a partnership approach and that both IMMAF and SCN will be promoting this content via their own PR and marketing channels. This approach is what makes SCN different to other free to air channels in the UK.”
