True Royalty TV on Roku via Vimeo

October 29, 2019

True Royalty TV, the SVoD service for Royal Family fans, is leveraging Vimeo’s OTT technology to accelerate its direct-to-consumer business. Vimeo now powers True Royalty TV in all markets, including the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The announcement was made today by Gregor Angus, CEO of True Royalty TV.

Vimeo, the online video platform, provides powerful tools for creators to build custom subscription services across all major platforms and connected devices. The technology platform is providing True Royalty TV with access points and seamless in-app purchase (IAP) functionality on iOS, Android, Apple TV, and, for the first time for the service, via the Roku app. The platform also provides True Royalty TV with “live” streaming capability for live events and shows.

“In the US alone, there are some 25 million people who identify themselves as Royals enthusiasts,” said Gregor Angus, CEO and co-founder, True Royalty TV. “In order to satisfy this huge fanbase, we need to be ubiquitous and leveraging Vimeo’s powerful technology allows us to do just that. True Royalty TV is accessible not only as a direct service, but also through the various apps, as well as through third-party providers like Comcast’s Xfinity, with more platforms forthcoming.”

“We’re thrilled to power True Royalty TV’s service and support their efforts to scale with a full-suite of web, TV and mobile apps,” said Kathleen Barrett, SVP, Enterprise, Vimeo. “Vimeo’s proven state-of-the-art OTT technology offers an optimal experience for Royal fans and enthusiasts around the world, and now they have unlimited access to the content they love, both live and on-demand.”
