Live interactive quizzes from BT Sport
June 4, 2020
BT Sport says it is continuing its award-winning innovation by teaming with a range of specialists to deliver its first-ever live, interactive quiz shows.
BT Sport will introduce new ‘pop up’ live play-along quiz shows around programming such as boxing, rugby, WWE and UFC. In recent weeks it has been broadcasting The Beautiful Quiz, an interactive live quiz to test the nation’s football knowledge which concludes today (June 4th). After this, the next BT Sport quiz will be ahead of the Emirates FA Cup Final in August.
In The Beautiful Quiz, James Richardson is joined by guests from the BT Sport team such as Robin Van Persie, Peter Crouch and Chris Sutton, along with football data guru Duncan Alexander from Opt. The Beautiful Quiz invites guests to play-along and compete against the BT Sport experts and the audience at home for top spot on the leader board. The show takes the form of six rounds of multiple-choice and free-type questions.
BT Sport’s new quizzes are being produced by BT Sport in collaboration with:
- Monterosa: delivers the live play-along quiz game, synchronised to broadcast, enabling consistent gameplay, points scoring and live leaderboards to the entire audience
- Phenix: delivers a synchronised OTT stream in real time to all play-along devices regardless of location, device or connection.
- Stats Perform: provides the questions via the @Optajoe team, as well as the data, stats and key historical insights.
- Sunset+Vine: leads the technical production via its remote production gallery with inter-producer and operator connectivity hosted in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.
“The Beautiful Quiz is the right programme at the right time, enabling all sports fans to come together and test their football knowledge and compete against the likes of Peter Crouch and Chris Sutton,” suggested Jamie Hindhaugh, chief operating officer, BT Sport. “The show is just the latest in our team’s stream of highly-innovative work during the pandemic to entertain and serve our viewers.”
“We are proud of our heritage in setting quizzes and delighted to be a part of such an innovative, exciting way of delivering one to the BT Sport audience,” added Ross Tanner, VP Global Accounts, Stats Perform.
