Apple TV+ poaches Sony’s Parnell

July 2, 2020

Sony Pictures Television co-president Chris Parnell is leaving the company after more than 16 years to work at Apple TV+.

Parnell will take on a senior programming role at the streaming service later this month, and help to drive development of Apple’s original series. He will report to Matt Cherniss, Apple’s head of scripted development.

Parnell has led development on such popular Sony shows as Outlander, The Blacklist, Breaking Bad, The Boys and Preacher.

Jason Clodfelter will become solo President at SPT Studios following Parnell’s departure.
