TF1 Group partners with Newsbridge

January 13, 2021

Newsbridge, the ultimate cloud platform for next-gen media valorization providing large-scale Multimodal Indexing for audiovisual content via AI, has announced a partnership with the french broadcast network TF1 Group, and the official launch of its advanced content monetization solution for audiovisual archives. This partnership stems from a merged actualization of the group’s intrapreneurial project to digitize its archives alongside the support of Newsbridge within the TF1 Media Lab acceleration program.

As a leading French media holding company, TF1 needed an automated and easy-to-integrate solution to index a mass volume of content in record time. As part of TF1’s Audiovisual Rights branch content resale strategy, the group partnered with Newsbridge in 2020, based on the work jointly initiated during the first season of TF1 Media Lab.

F1 Media Gallery (https://www.tf1mediagallery.com), is a new cloud-based marketplace that showcases and sells a wide range of television programs ranging from variety shows to the latest news videos. Via an unprecedented Clip & Collect experience, journalists, editorial writers, editors and videographers all over the world have the ability to search, find and purchase available extracts. The Newsbridge platform allows them to select a specific sequence, the key moment, that they require for their project. As of now, TF1 Audiovisual Rights can offer its customers unprecedented precision while also obtaining a new revenue stream.

“Prior to the launch of TF1 Media Gallery, we were already working with Newsbridge to sell and deliver media extracts to customers during the pandemic. Now as part of our content resale strategy, customer experience is now top-of-mind and we’re able to deliver an easy-to-use and streamlined showcase channel,” said Lise Nayrolles, TF1 Media Gallery Co-founder

TF1 media footage is now automatically indexed and stored within the TF1 Media Gallery platform- organized into enriched and customizable collections based on metadata, powered by Multimodal AI. This gives documentalists and editors  the ability to focus on high-level editorialization strategy via auto-extracting the greatest value from their media assets based on facial, object, and context recognition along with Speech-to-text, resulting in a simplified content showcasing process.

By adopting Newsbridge’s signature AI-powered Multimodal Indexing technology, TF1 is also adopting a modernized search experience for their customers and internal entities with a semantic search engine to find ‘needle in a haystack moments’ in seconds among thousands of hours of auto-indexed footage.

With ease-of-access and digital workflows top-of-mind, Newsbridge’s platform allows videographers to access TF1 sequences  remotely, collaborate with stakeholders in real-time, and record and index live content- all the while continuously adding new and legacy program content to the Media Gallery.

“There is a real opportunity for content monetization powered by AI. Newsbridge’s partnership with TF1 Group directly reflects the increasing market demand for digital workflows that promote reduced costs, heightened agility and increased revenue,” said Philippe Petitpont, Newsbridge Co-founder & CEO
