discovery+ adds The Curse of the Highgate Vampire to paranormal line-up

Discovery has announced the commission of The Curse of the Highgate Vampire. The new documentary will join the blood-chilling stories from the Streaming Home of Paranormal, dropping on discovery+ globally just in time for Halloween.
The Curse of the Highgate Vampire, produced by Big Little Fish Television, is a 1×60 paranormal shock doc that explores one of the most controversial paranormal events in British history. The film documents a gang of paranormal thrill-seekers as they get themselves deliberately locked inside the infamous Highgate Cemetery. During the night they record bone-chilling paranormal evidence that reignites a 50-year-old investigation.
Since the 1970s, the Highgate Cemetery has seen a rise of shocking reports of bodies rising from graves, strange bite marks appearing on a woman’s neck and sightings of a tall dark figure with red eyes walking amongst the graves. This soon turned the Victorian London graveyard into a vampire hunting ground, with opening tombs, destroying coffins and desecrating corpses.
The Curse of the Highgate Vampire features newly discovered and never-seen-before recordings of David Farrant, the deceased psychic investigator at the centre of the 70s drama, and sheds new light on this extraordinary story. An ensemble cast of historians, paranormal journalists and investigators get together to decode the mysterious hauntings of Highgate.
The documentary will be part of the recently announced Ghostober, Discovery’s first-ever cross-brand, cross-platform Halloween programming offering. Ghostober will include over 50 hours of shows from 14 series and specials globally, with new and exclusive content landing on the service all month long.

The documentary was ordered for discovery+ by Clare Laycock, commissioned by Charlotte Reid and executive produced by Deirdre Dowling for Discovery. At Big Little Fish Television, the shock doc was executive produced by Mark Procter and Steve Jones and will air globally this autumn.
