Paramount+ reveals first look at The Serial Killer’s Wife

Paramount+ has released a series of teaser images, giving the first glimpse of Annabel Scholey, Jack Farthing and Luke Treadaway in their lead roles in new original UK drama series The Serial Killer’s Wife.
Angela Griffin (Waterloo Road, Crime, The Suspect) is also seen for the first time as DI Aline Edgeworth, someone deeply driven to uncover the truth, no matter what the consequence.
Set in a family home nestled in an idyllic English town, Beth Fairchild (Annabel Scholey: The Split, The Sixth Commandment) has prepared a surprise birthday party for her husband Tom (Jack Farthing: Rain Dogs, Spencer, The Lost Daughter). With most of the village present, as Tom is the beloved local doctor, Beth’s world is turned upside down when the party is interrupted by the police and Tom is arrested for the murder of his former assistant.
Beth believes her husband has been wrongly accused but she soon makes some shocking discoveries that cast doubt on his innocence. As she confides her worries to Adam (Luke Treadaway: A Street Cat Named Bob, Ordeal By Innocence), Tom’s best friend from childhood, further developments see Beth begin to realise not everything in her supposedly idyllic life is as it seems.
Scholey said: “Beth is someone carrying immense pressure as she attempts to portray this idyllic family life. Yet, behind closed doors, these first images perfectly capture the hauntingly dark and troubled truth which seemingly lies behind the façade of it all… It’s just the start of this very twisted story and I hope viewers will be as gripped watching it as we were in piecing it all together.”
Alongside Angela Griffin, Beth and Tom’s idyllic small-knit community is expanded with the addition of Julie Graham (Maternal, Ridley, Shetland) who is joining the cast as Beth’s absent mother Clover, while Shobna Gulati (Hullraisers, Inside No.9, Dinnerladies) plays pushy headmistress Kiran, Hari Dhillon (Guilt, Holby City, Pennyworth) is Tom’s close friend and defence lawyer Maxwell and Morgana Robinson (The Windsor’s, The Martini Shot, The Larkins) is one of Tom’s childhood friends, Jules .
Whilst filming the gripping book adaptation for the screen in Kent, Griffin added: “It has been a thrill to explore the drive behind DI Aline Edgeworth’s determination to find the truth and working with such a talented cast and creative team has been a real bonus.”
This four-part series is a co-production by BlackBox Multimedia and Clapperboard Studios. Executive producers are Chiara Cardoso, Giuliano Papadia (BlackBox Multimedia), Andy Morgan and Mike Benson (Clapperboard). Written by Ben Morris and Suzanne Cowie, Laura Way is the director and Jonathan Phillips serves as the producer. Newen Connect will distribute The Serial Killer’s Wife internationally.
