Vivaro Media chooses Appear for live encoding of 2023 Pan American Games

Appear, a specialist in media processing and delivery technology, has been chosen by Vivaro Media to support its live contribution of the upcoming 2023 Pan American Games, scheduled to take place in Santiago, Chile from October 20th to November 5th 2023. Vivaro Media, a leading provider of solutions for the global transport of live audiovisual content, has deployed Appear’s award-winning X Platform to encode 10 live HD channels during the competition.
The X Platform from Appear offers the most power, space, and operationally efficient solution on the market. Vivaro Media needed to deploy the Appear X10 with software-defined HEVC compression to deliver 10 live HD channels from the games in Santiago, allowing it to minimize energy consumption and considerably reduce shipping costs and power usage – with no compromise on quality or latency. The X Platform’s density and flexibility enable Vivaro Media to encode its live feeds seamlessly while rapidly scaling to meet increased number of camera feeds.
